compassion & Aid

Jesus brought the blessing of God to all he met - through his acts of mercy, compassion and justice.

As Christ's people, we now seek to show his love to the world as we care for those in need.

That's why we support the following local and international aid projects.

Compassion

child sponsorship

Worldwide, 385 million children live in extreme poverty. Sadly, poverty robs children of their basic rights to learn, play and grow. In its ugliest form, poverty can lead to exploitation, child labour and even death. It's unacceptable.

That's why we support Compassion's Child Sponsorship Program. Because more powerful than poverty is the hope of Jesus, the care of a local church and the encouragement of a loving sponsor, like you.

good friday appeal

Imagine a workplace where going to the toilet requires a 100m walk through monsoon rains or swirling dust storms. Imagine a prison where the nearest source of drinking water is 15km away. Imagine a community without a Bible in its own language. These are the kinds of situations that PresAID* seeks to change.

And that's why on Good Friday each year we celebrate the mercy that God's shown us by generously supporting this life-changing ministry.

*PresAID is the overseas aid and development arm of the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

Refugee support, drought relief, counselling services, hospital and prison chaplaincy ...

These are just a few of the ways that Jericho Road* seeks to demonstrate the character of God by providing fresh hope and care to those who are in need.

Each year we set aside one Sunday to hear about and contribute to the ministries of Jericho Road.

COMPASSION

christmas appeal

At Christmas, we celebrate God's incomparable gift to us - his very own precious Son, Jesus.  And through the Compassion Christmas Appeal, we respond by giving the gift of compassion to others living in need.

Each year we focus on a different gift - like goats, chickens, mosquito nets, or water filters, to name a few.  It's a great way to offer real hope and joy to families living in poverty.

LOCAL AID

allowah

children's hospital

Allowah Children's Hospital is no ordinary place. It's a centre for special kids with special needs.

The hospital seeks to provide quality health care and disability assistance, along with spiritual support, to children with complex disabilities and health needs.

Each year our church sets aside funds to enable this very important ministry to keep functioning.
